Three days out from Election Day, the mood I’m catching is that everyone is ready for this to be over. Kamala’s been going at a dead run since the day Joe dropped out, and though she’s a youthful 60, that has to take a toll on a person. I bet she’s looking forward to drinking a whole beer one of these days.
Meanwhile her opponent looks half-dead, tired eyes peering out from behind an inch-thick layer of orange goop. It seems quite possible he doesn’t even really want to be president anymore; he just knows that if he loses he’s going to jail. I think he’d just as soon spend his time hanging out at the Mar-a-Lago omelette bar between rounds of golf.
And though he richly deserves to spend the rest of his life in a cell, I’d be fine with that. I just want him to go away somewhere that we don’t have to see him anymore, so the adults can get on with trying to fix the Problems.
Not that I think we’re going to really tackle, say, climate change if Kamala gets elected. We’ll probably continue to dither and bicker and deny until the world goes up in flames. But maybe with a sane person in the White House we could do a wee bit better? Is that too much to ask?
Anyway… tonight I’m going to have a nice meal, watch Young Frankenstein, and forget all about this crap. Tick tock, tick tock.
Never fear, it’s going to be okay.
Enjoy the movie.
I saw “Anora” last night. I think you would really like it.
