You know who else didn’t drink? Adolf Hitler. According to The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich,
In geography and history [Adolf] was “satisfactory”; in free-hand drawing, “excellent.” He felt so excited at the prospect of leaving school for good that for the first and last time in his life he got drunk. As he remembered it in later years he was picked up at dawn, lying on a country road outside of Steyr, by a milkmaid and helped back to town, swearing he would never do it again. In this matter, at least, he was as good as his word, for he became a teetotaler, a nonsmoker and a vegetarian to boot.
Again, I draw no general inference from this — though possibly there is a distinction to be made between people who don’t drink and people who don’t drink anymore.
At this point the election appears to be a race to the finish between That Fucking Guy and the worms that are rapidly eating his brain. I mean, he’s never been the smartest or the sanest, but since he started hanging around RFK Jr. — who I assume is the worm vector — things have gotten markedly worse. This week his campaign has been cancelling all his events, apparently hoping to keep the decline a secret. (Possibly there is a plan afoot to just get him across the finish line and then have J.D. Vance take over, officially or unofficially.)
But there he was on Monday, onstage grooving to all his favorite songs as Kristi Noem and the rest of the MAGA faithful tried very hard to pretend this was normal. And to be honest, as weird as it was, it was one of his more relatable moments. Who doesn’t want to occasionally just stop everything and “have a music”? If you watched him swaying to Rufus Wainwright singing “Hallelujah” you might have thought, just for a moment, that this was an actual human being with a soul.
And while we’re relating to the unrelatable, here’s more from The Rise and Fall:
While [Adolf’s] mother suggested — and other relatives often urged — that he go to work and learn a trade he contented himself with dreaming of his future as an artist and with idling away the pleasant days along the Danube. He never forgot the “downy softness” of those years from sixteen to nineteen when as a “mother’s darling” he enjoyed the “hollowness of a comfortable life.” Though the ailing widow found it difficult to make ends meet on her meager income, young Adolf declined to help out by getting a job. The idea of earning even his own living by any kind of regular employment was repulsive to him and was to remain so throughout his life.
Yes, well… (cough, cough)… what the fuck happened to that guy? I guess I’ll find out; I’m on page 19 of 1147.
Another image from this week: Elon Musk prancing like a tit at a TFG rally in Butler, PA. I’m not going to look for it to post it here; you probably saw it. I think Elon’s got the brain worms too.
Elon, RFK, TFG, Rudy: worms worms worms. If only we had a vaccine for the worms.
There was a big hoo-ha today over the fact that Jack Smith was gonna drop a bunch of material related to his Jan. 6 case. As far as I can tell it turned out to be a big nothingburger, most of it redacted.
The whole thing is very frustrating. Jan. 6. the classified documents, election interference in Georgia, extortion of Ukraine… where has it all gone? It makes you want to scream.
So by way of therapy, let’s scream along with Adolph for a minute.
Yeah that’s dark, but purgative. Let’s get it out of our systems and try to have a great weekend. Next time, less Hitler, I promise.
doesn’t ivermectin work on worms?
It’s worth a try.
