Sick to my stomach for two days. Literally on the verge of tears almost the whole time. Trouble sleeping. But, I’m putting a brave face on and moving forward.

Turns out Trump was correct in his claim that the election was rigged. The damn Electoral College (I call it the Electrical College, since it delivers shocks when it makes a winner out of the popular vote loser) shows that this election was rigged against Hillary. Unfortunately, since it would require a Constitutional Amendment to make the EC go away, it will probably never happen. The candidate & party that has won due to this political anachronism has no desire to pass such an amendment in Congress, and many smaller population states would never ratify it, since it would diminish their importance in the process. And even though it causes some folks’ votes to be worth less than others, I don’t see how the Supreme Court (even if it wanted to) can rule something unconstitutional that’s actually in the Constitution. Some have called the Electoral College the founder’s biggest mistake, since they had no confidence in the wisdom of the electorate. But slaves counted as 3/5ths of a person was pretty bad too (both the slaves part & the 3/5ths part). Despite the patriotic fervor for the Constitution, we live in a seriously flawed system of government!
